The Keystone Canoe Club was organized in 1973 in an effort to promote the sports of canoeing and kayaking. We address the needs of paddlers, with an emphasis on enjoying the water safely and protecting the environment.
Whether your interest is recreational kayaking, canoeing, sea kayaking, whitewater, or racing, we have members with similar interests.
We offer club trips as well as information about combined trips with other clubs. Although we are based in Berks County, Pennsylvania, you may find yourself traveling with club members to paddle in West Virginia, the Chesapeake Bay, Western and Central PA, the Pine Barrens of New Jersey, and many other places in nearby states.
KCC offers 'Roll Sessions' in late winter, which are held in a large indoor pool. Here, experienced paddlers can learn effective self-rescue techniques, particularly the roll.
We hold regular monthly meetings, which include paddling-related programs. Meetings are held 7-9 PM, on the fourth Tuesday of each month, except for July and August which are picnics, and December, when we have a Christmas party. Muhlenberg Township Recreation Building is the site of most meetings. Call first for information if you plan to attend a meeting and get to know our club members.
To join KCC, simply access the 'Membership' section, download the forms. Complete and sign the forms, include a $15 check, and mail them to the address indicated.
