PLEASE CORRECT YOUR ENTRY FORMS:
  1. Please include your complete address: street address, city, state, zip code. Some people are forgetting to print the name of their city.
  2. Please sign your ACA waiver, whether you're an ACA member or not.
  3. Racers who are not ACA members can choose a $5 event fee or the $10 six-month introductory membership to cover race insurance. Add the $20 race fee. If registering after April 30, add $5 late fee.




INTERESTED IN ENTERING THE 2008 SCHUYLKILL RIVER REGATTA?

The Keystone Canoe Club has sponsored the Schuylkill River Regatta for 38 years, to promote water safety and paddlesports in general. This 12-mile race is held on the Schuylkill River starting at Peter Yarnell Park, which is near Berne Bridge near Hamburg. THIS YEAR WE WILL TAKE-OUT AT EITHER STOUDT'S FERRY ON RIVER RIGHT, OR AT JIM DIETRICH PARK ON RIVER LEFT, which is less than a mile farther downstream. Both are close to Reading. CHECK THE MESSAGE BOARD ON OUR WEBSITE FOR UP-TO-DATE INFORMATION.

The course is Class I water, easy enough for a novice. The race will be challenging enough for an experienced racer, and fun for all. There is calm water, moving water with riffles, and low ledges.......

This year, the race is sanctioned by ACA and covered by ACA insurance, so you save money by being an ACA member. Racers who are ACA MEMBERS MUST SHOW THEIR ACA CARD WITH ITS NUMBER at check-in time on Saturday. Non-members should choose one of the options described at the top of the ACA's Adult Waiver Form.....

For ACA members, the cost of pre-registration is $20. For non-ACA members, the pre-registration cost is $25. REGISTRATION AFTER APRIL 30 WILL COST $5 EXTRA AS A LATE FEE. A free t-shirt is included, guaranteed for those who pre-register, or the first 75 racers.......

On May 3rd, check-in starts at 8 am, while the race starts at 11 am. ON MAY 3RD, COME TO PETER YARNELL PARK AND CHECK-IN FIRST, TO FIND OUT WHICH TAKE-OUT WILL BE USED. Leave your boat at the start at Peter Yarnell Park when you check-in. Then you can move your car to the take-out, and take the shuttle back to the start. Hopefully, this year, a school bus will be available to provide transportation......

TO REGISTER FOR THE 2008 KCC REGATTA, follow these simple steps:.....

1. Above this description, look for the title: 2008 REGATTA INFORMATION, ENTRY FORM, KCC and ACA WAIVERS in blue. Click on the title and download the file. It contains seven pages, which will print out all together......

2. IF YOU ARE NOT AN ACA MEMBER, your options are described in the six boxes at the top of the fourth page, (ACA Membership page with the Adult Waiver.) Check one of the boxes at the top and sign the waiver. IF YOU ARE AN ACA MEMBER, PLEASE JUST SIGN THE WAIVER FORM ANYWAY and send it in.......

3. Send the 2008 ENTRY FORM AND ONE OF THE ACA WAIVERS to the KCC address indicated below. Include ONE CHECK for combined KCC and ACA fees, PAYABLE TO THE KEYSTONE CANOE CLUB. Only non-ACA members pay ACA fees. You do not have to join KCC to participate in the Regatta.......
